Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment
One reason for conducting a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment is that vulnerable areas can influence each other, which means that there may be more vulnerable than you initially see. For example, a poorly healing wound may be due to malnutrition and poor mobilisation. You can identify the “hidden” vulnerable areas with a Comprehensve Geriatric Assessment.
A second reason is to objectify the vulnerable area with a measuring instrument. The results of the measurement offers the professional a baseline score, which can be used to evaluate interventions.
